CHRISTIAN
AID CENTER DEDICATED
The Christian Aid Center
Dedicated and Consecrated their new location,
service, and building at 7455 Mt. Vernon Rd in
Lithia Springs on Sunday October 29th at
3:00pm. It was established in 1982 through
joint efforts of Lithia Springs United Methodist
Church and First Baptist Church of Lithia
Springs. Now supported by these additional
churches: Beulah Baptist on Bankhead Hwy,
Atlanta West Pentecostal on Skyview Dr,
CornerStone Baptist on South Sweetwater Rd,
Union Grove on Union Grove Rd, County Line
Baptist on West N. County Line Rd, Lithia
Springs Assembly of God on Lee Rd, and Pleasant
Hill Baptist on Brownsville Rd.
The Purpose of the Christian Aid Center is to
share God's love in a practical way in our
community by helping others in the name of
Christ Jesus. The Mission of the Christian Aid
Ministry is to assist individuals and families
in situations of severe financial stress and
seeks to serve individuals with care, prayer,
assessment and referral services in time of
crisis.
The Christian Aid Center is a Food Bank
supplying food to those who are in need and
attempt to stock the items which meet the basic
daily nutrition requirements. They may provide
some personal hygiene items and cleaning
materials when they are available and when
funding permits and may assist with some
specific prescriptions and some other needs.
Thanksgiving and Christmas baskets are
distributed each year.
School Supplies are supplied by our
sponsoring churches that have annual drives,
asking their congregations to contribute school
supplies and/or funds. Most items that are
needed are available.
Used clothing is now available with their
larger building now. Sizes, quality and styles
depend upon the clothing donated. If you wish
to donate, they ask that it is clean clothing
and if possible on hangers.
Some of the Christian Aid Sponsors are: with
money are GreyStone, West Metro Baptist
Association, Sam's Club, Wal-Mart, Publix,
Sunday School classes, small businesses, civic
organizations and lots of caring individuals.
These donate food: Pizza Hut, KFC, Publix, and
Courtni's Iron Skillet. Annual Food Drives
and/or collections: Lithia Springs Post Office,
Powder Springs Post Office, Sweetwater
Elementary, Lithia Springs Elementary, Beulah
Elementary, Colonial Hills Christian School,
Turner Middle School, LSHS, the Seniors at the
Douglas Co. Senior Center, the Genesis Sunday
School Class at First United Methodist Church in

Over 4,000 people were assisted in 2005.
This required more than 80,000 pounds of food
and they will probably have even more this
year. They have only one part time paid
employee and over 50 hard working, caring
volunteers. Christian Aid is operated with a
Board of Directors: Ron Dotson, President;
Doyce Pike, Vice-President, Charlie Goff,
Treasurer; Karen Hollis, Secretary; and Pam
Cline, the coordinator is in charge of
day-to-day operation.
The Christian Aid Center serves east Douglas
County and is open Monday, Wednesday, Thursday,
and Friday from 10:00am until 2:00pm. Anyone
with a desire to volunteer, make a donation or
both may do so by contacting Pam Cline at
770.948.0066.
